| Course contents : | The aim of this course is to introduce students in Translation and Interpretation to corporate culture, which has become a fundamental tool in organisations (companies, institutions, etc.), both in their internal and external relations. It is also a question of showing them how this culture can be a performance factor or an obstacle for companies. |

| Course objective : | - To define corporate culture and the various (visible and invisible) elements it incorporates.
- Explain why it is difficult to study a company's culture from a scientific point of view.
- Explain the positive points of culture within a company (performance elements) as well as the negative points (obstacles).
- Define the elements needed for the good management of corporate culture.
- Explain how the corporate cultures presented in class function. |

| Organization : | These are the various chapter covered in class:
- Defining corporate culture and its functions - The difficulty of studying a culture within a company - Implementing a corporate culture and its different parameters - Culture and management: corporate culture as a performance factor - Case studies: Microsoft, Renault and Ikea - Managing corporate culture and the "flip side of culture"
The sheets handed out to students do not constitute a syllabus. Students are therefore recommended to take notes.
Using extracts from books and current case analyses (analysis of sites and company reports), students will reflect upon corporate culture and the positive and negative impact it can have on management. |
