Course contents :  1 Determination of the silage quality (effectiveness of preservation)
2 Determination of the chemical composition and the nutritional value of the silage
3 Identification of a feed based on its chemical composition and tabular values
4 Determination of the biological value of protein sources in the rat and the human
Course objective :  The main objective is to illustrate by laboratory measurements and an animal experiment some of the fundamental principles in human and animal feeding and nutrition. The secondary objective is to write and to present a scientific report.
After completing the course the student is expected to
- Evaluate the effectiveness of preservation of silages and calculate their nutritional values
- Become familar with the the proximal analyses of feedstuffs
- Be able to determine the biological value of the proteins taking into account the results of an animal experiment
- Synthetize and review the results of an experiment in the field of the animal feeding and nutrition
