| Course contents : | After the description of the principles of psychiatric examination, the course systematically reviews the various psychiatric disorders distributed in main chapters: 1) anxiety disorders (panic disorder, specific phobia, social phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, acute stress disorder, generalised anxiety disorder), 2) mood disorders (major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, dysthymic disorder, cyclothymic disorder), 3) adjustment disorder, 4) somatoform and factitious disorders (somatisation disorder, undifferenciated somatoform disorder, conversion disorder, pain disorder, hyponchondriasis, body dysmorphic disorder, factitious disorder), 5) alcoholism, 6) substance abuse and dependence, 7) schizophrenia and other psychoses (schizophrenia, schizophreniform disorder, schizo-affective disorder, delusional disorder, brief psychotic disorder, shared psychotic disorder), 8) impulse-control disorders, 9) eating disorders (anorexia nervosa, bulimia).
Each disorder is presented systematically (epidemiology, symptomatology and characteristics, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, pathogeny, evolution and complications, treatment). The course presents an integrative vision of the various pathogenic mechanisms (at the biological, psychological and social levels) and the various therapeutic approaches, focusing particularly on the relational and psychotherapic aspects as well as on the rational use of psychotropic drugs (anxiolytics, antidepressants, antipsychotics). Each disorder is illustrated by video interviews of characteristic patients. |

| Course objective : | The objective of the course is to teach to the student the steps of psychiatric diagnosis and the various types of treatment. Moreover, the student should be able to integrate the various pathogenic factors of the disorders. |

| Organization : | The course is organised during the second semester with 1H30/week. |

| Assessment : | Written exam with multiple choice questions presented as generalized true/false, rated as follows: correct answer= +1, no answer= 0, wrong answer= -1. |
