Course contents :  This course gives a historical overview of the occidental philosophy from the ancient Greek civilization to the contemporary age. It consists of two sections: the first one is devoted to the bases of traditional metaphysics in ancient and medieval philosophy, the second one focuses on the development of the "Philosophies of Consciousness" in modern and contemporary age.
Course objective :  Acquisition of a basic knowledge about the history of philosophy.
Prerequisites :  None.
Organization :  The course will take place during the first term (September-December),
- first session on Tuesdays from 10:30 am to 12:00.
- second session (continuation) on Fridays from 8:30 am to 10:00 am.
Place: Auditoire "Grand Physique".
