Course contents :  A theoretical and historical introduction to the main streams of stylistics. Contributions from the Italian tradition of critical analysis. Analysis of a corpus of texts from the 19th and 20th centuries (in prose and verse) designed to show how stylistic analysis can be integrated into other disciplines including rhetoric, linguistics, metrics and narratology.
Course objective :  Enhance the students' ability to analyse modern Italian texts in keeping with stylistics methodology and concepts.
Prerequisites :  A good knowledge of the Italian language.
