Language :  Langue anglaise
Course contents :  We take a critical look at the various problems involved in dealing with the lexicon in a formal analysis - to the extent the latter is indeed feasible - of contemporary English. The standard lexical resources such as dictionaries and thesauri are examined and assessed with respect to their relevance for the various tasks involved in the parsing of natural language.
Course objective :  - enhance the students' critical awareness of the constraints placed by a formal approach on the analysis of the lexical issues involved in parsing natural language

- develop their understanding of the basis links between the lexicon and the other components of natural language in the framework of a formal approach to parsing
