| Course contents : | This residential seminar is organized during one week in Paris (France), in cooperation with IAE (University of Paris I- Sorbonne). The seminar is focussed on the balance between strategic HR orientations and local adaptations in global firms. It is based on visits of companies and meetings with HR academics and professionals.
ATTENTION: FOR LOGISTICAL REASONS, THE ADMISSIONS TO THIS SEMINAR ARE LIMITED TO 20 PARTICIPANTS.
IN CASE OF A HIGHER AFFLUENCE, A SELECTION WILL BE OPERATED ON OCTOBER 1st, BASED ON THE PREVIOUS CURSUS OF THE STUDENTS. ALL STUDENTS WILL BE PERSONALLY INFORMED AND, IF NECESSARY, THEY WILL RECEIVE EXTRA TIME IN ORDER TO CHOOSE ANOTHER COURSE.

- Discovering the organization of the HR function in global firms
- Confronting theories, managerial discourses and observations on the field
- Synthetising the results of an empirical investigation in a structured way, likely to be read by professionals

| Prerequisites : | "Gestion des ressources humaines et Relations professionnelles" or any other basic courses in HRM |

| Organization : | This intensive seminar is organized from 6th to 11th April 2009 in Paris (France), in cooperation with IAE (University of Paris I- Sorbonne). Two preliminary meetings will be organized in order to prepare the theme which will be explored. The seminar is focussed on the balance between strategic HR orientations and local adaptations in global firms. The participants will have the opportunity to visit companies like Accor, Renault, L'Oréal, Vinci, Club Med, Total, etc and to compare the visions of corporate and local HR managers. They will also participate to presentations given by HR academics and professionals about globalisation, corporate social responsibibility, etc.
The participants will have to write a synthesis report. The structure of this report will be discussed during the two preliminary meetings. It will be transmitted to the HR managers met during the seminar.
A financial contribution will be asked to the participants for the travel and accommodation expenses (around 150 euros).
