| Course contents : | Theoretical course : The course comprises 8 sessions dealing with various aspects of research in sport pedagogy
Chapter 1 - Concepts and paradigms Chapter 2 - Data collected through observation Chapter 3 - Data collected through interrogation Chapter 4 - Synthesis of the research on teaching physical education Chapter 5 - Synthesis of sciences of coaching Chapter 6 - Effectiveness of physical and sport activities' teaching Chapter 7 - Experimental approach in sport pedagogy Chapter 8 - Synthesis of research on physical educators' preparation
Practical course: This course aims to illustrate research methods for collecting data about the three phases of pedagogical relationship. Students are directly involved in the development of instruments, collecting and processing data in order to improve their experience in the use of softwares like Excel and Statistica. |

| Course objective : | Theoretical course
-To illustrate the concept of Intervention in physical and sport activities. -To present the research paradigms used in this field. -To describe the instruments and their characteristics. -To illustrate the results of studies focused on the main studied variables. -To underline the practical implications of this kind of research.
Practical course
-To illustrate the use of the instruments described at the time of the theoretical course. -To provide students with a basic experience in developing research methods in the field of Intervention in physical and sport activities. |

| Workshops : | The practical courses consist essentially in seminars, workshops and field activities. |
 |
| Organization : | The teaching sessions are planned during the first semester. Information isprovided during the first lecture. |
 |
| Written notes : | A pdf versionof the slides and documents proposed during the theoretical lessons is posted on the Website MyULg. In addition, the students will have to seek other information, according to recommendations' of the course's leader. |

| Assessment : | Works and exam's score are combined for the final note. |
 |
