Course contents :  The Law of obligations is composed of the rules and legal principles on which are based the social and economical relations. The course is divided in five sections : (I) the main section is devoted to the sources of obligations and their legal aspects; this section relates specially to contracts; torts are studied in a separate course (II); assignment of obligations (with exception to assignment of obligations in Company Law); (III) modalities of obligations (condition precedent,...) ; (IV) termination of obligations (payment, subrogation , netting, limitation of actions, ...) ; (V) legal protection rules of the creditors.
Course objective :  Understanding of the several legal concepts and rules governing the law of obligations and application of these concepts to practical problems
Prerequisites :  Introduction to Private Law

Assessment :  Written and oral exam in First and Second Session
