Course contents :  This course explores the field of victimology through lectures on the following themes: the history and field of action of victimology, empirical data on victimization, victimological theories, the role of the victim in criminal procedure, policy developments in favor of victims in Belgium and at the european and international level. At the end of the course an emerging field in victimology is explored.
Course objective :  Gain a good basic knowledge of the field of victimology.

- sessions in which difficult parts of the course will be reviewed
Written notes :  Will be made available:
- the power point presentations,
- a compilation of the texts used as support for the lectures.
Assessment :  Written exam
