- Introduction to Human Anatomy
- General biology preparing to biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences, including notions in general embryology and general genetics
Duration :  Introduction to Human Anatomy : 20h Th, 10h Pr
General biology preparing to biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences, including notions in general embryology and general genetics : 65h Th, 15h QA Sess.
Credits/ECTS :
Bachelor in Motor skills, 1st yearToute l'année12
Holder(s) :  Introduction to Human Anatomy : Pierre Bonnet
General biology preparing to biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences, including notions in general embryology and general genetics : Didier Cataldo
Coordinator :  Didier Cataldo
Language :  Langue française
Course contents :  Biology is the science studying properties of life: The pupose of Biology is the analysis of structure, function and behaviour of cells, animals and plants. Networks of reciprocal interaction, including reproduction, will also be focused. Studying Biology as well as other discilpines (chemistry, anatomy, ...) is essential for understanding the mechanisms that lead the human body to exert its different functions.

First, every kind of cells (bacteria, plant cells, animal cells) will be studied regarding their properties, structure and function.

Secondly, we will proceed to an overview of the main mechanisms and processes implicating the cells. In this part, different subjects will be studied such as illustrations of diversity of life, evolution, reproduction, genetics, embryology, ecology, ... Locomotor system will be taken as an example to identify the mechanisms of adaptation to the milieu.

Course objective :  Goals of the lessons of Biology will be to acquire :

- Precise knowledge regarding cells structure and activities and their reciprocal interactions.

- Tool for a further comprehensive study of pathology resulting of a dysregulation of cell or tissue function.

- Basic scientific approach.
