V: Monoaminergic (MA) and cholinergic systems

VI: Drugs acting on MA and cholinergic systems (psychostimulants - psychodysleptics - antipsychotics - antidepressants - nicotine)

VII: Glutamate and "dissociative anaesthetics"

VIII: GABA - anxiolytics/hypnotics - antiepileptics

IX:Cannabinoids

X: Opioids

XI: Ethanol
Course objective :  The first objective is to give informations regarding the different neurotransmitter systems in the central nervous system (CNS). The final objective is to give a good understanding of the mechanisms of action of the main types of psychotropic drugs
Prerequisites :  Basic notions about the anatomy and physiology of the CNS
Workshops :  none
Organization :  15 sessions of 2h scheduled in agreement with the students
Written notes :  Syllabus with projected slices
Assessment :  Oral evaluation
