Course contents :  This lecture is focussed on the analysis of teaching processes, describe them and study their impact on pupils.
The main chapters are the following:
- What is teaching?
- Trends in paradigms of research on teaching
- Analysis of verbal & non verbal interactions between teachers & pupils.
- Variability according to the class context.
- Impact of expectancies and teachers' judgments
- Results of process-product studies
Course objective :  - Give the conceptual basis of the analysis of teaching processes
- Study the principal researches, their methodology and their results
- Give the methodological basis of classroom observation.
Prerequisites :  None
Workshops :  15 hours of practical works focussed on classroom observation and analysis of data gathered through those observations.
Organization :  The theory lecture is given in 10 sessions of 3 hours each.
Written notes :  A folder with several papers and slides are provided.
Assessment :  Written examination, and possibly an oral examination for students who did not succeed the written test.
Remarks :  This lecture is not open in 2006-2007.
