Course contents :  History of comparative linguistic. The Indo-European languages. The Proto-Indo-European phonological system. The Proto-Indo-European roots theory.
Course objective :  To compare the modern and old languages from an historical angle. To be able to judge the etymological notes and to start a research in the field.
Prerequisites :  Good knowleldge of the grammar of an Indo-European language different from French
Workshops :  ---
Organization :  30 h spread over the second semester. Timetable set with the students. Opening session en September announced on Section notice board. The attendance is obligatory.
