Course contents :  1. Texts: Chaucer, The Canterbury Tales et The Legend of Good Women

  • General context
  • Chaucer, his works, his manuscrits
  • some major points (esp. relationship teller to tale, Marriage Group, sovereignty, complaints, open ending)
3. The students will prepare the texts and some pieces of criticism. They will make an oral presentation of one of the aspects discussed and will write a report (subjects and calendar will be settled on the first day)
Course objective :  - introduction to Women's studies
- reading of one of the major authors of English literature
