L'année préparatoire au master en sciences informatiques sera proposée aux étudiants qui seront titulaires des diplômes suivants : bachelier en informatique de gestion (type court) bachelier en informatique et système (type court) bachelier en sciences industrielles (type long) Dès l'année académique 2006-2007, cette année préparatoire sera proposée aux gradués en informatique (type court) qui souhaitent s'inscrire au master en sciences informatiques. Celui-ci ne sera organisé qu'à partir de l'année académique 2007-2008.
