Course contents : The theoretical course resumes the stages of a quantitative survey. The main stages developed in the theoretical course are those concerning the principle and techniques of sampling, the preparation techniques of a questionnaire (including the qualitative interview), the modalities of signing of a questionnaire, the principles relating to interpretation of the results.

Private lectures are organized for the most technical parts of the course (sampling and statistical interpretation of the results).
Course objective : The purpose of the course is double:
1 ° to give to the students the theoretical basic knowledge necessary for the realization of a quantitative survey, mainly in sampling of populations, realization of questionnaires, statistical treatment and interpretation of results.
2 ° to allow the students to realize a terrain survey by making practically all the stages required by a quantitative survey. Study desk, interview grid with experts and persons resources, preparation and pre-testing of questionnaires, techniques of interview, signing of questionnaires, random and empirical samplings, coding and encoding of the data, perusal and statistical treatment of the results.
Prerequisites : If possible, knowledge of basic elements in descriptive statistics.
Workshops : The practical works consist in realizing a concrete survey by making practically all the operations required by a terrain survey. They are integrated in the theoretical course according to its progress.
Organization : Ex-cathedra lessons (30 h) illustrated by transparent frames.
The practical works (30 h) are supervised by the researchers of the service and a teaching assistant.
Private lectures: the practical works (30 h) which constitute half of the course and the private lessons were described above.
