Course contents : This course is mainly an initiation to satellite photogrammetry. The SPOT5-HRS case will be studied. Practical exercises concerning calculations corresponding the different steps of Digital of Surface Models extraction of will be carried out.

A part of the course will also be devoted to the organization of ground truth campaigns for the training and the validation of satellite images classifications.

Lastly, the students will supplement their formation by the research, reading and analysis of scientific documents concerning these two aspects of the course.
Course objective : Control of the geometrical problems of satellite photogrammetry.

Development of practictical competences for the organization of ground truth campaings.

Scientific autonomy in the search and analysis of scientific documents.
Prerequisites : Very good knowledge in analytical geometry, matrix algebra, image processing and remote sensing, photogrammetry, statistics and geostatistic.
Workshops : Sessions of exercises on computer organized in the B5a building
Organization : Schedule defined by mutual agreement between students and teacher.
Written notes : Power Point slides available in PDF format on the FTP server of the Geomatics Unit.
