Robust non-parametrical statistics

Course contents : First, different methods of non-parametric estimation and testing will be studed. Then, the boostrap strategy will be used in various contexts. Finally, some topics of robust statistics will be discussed.
Course objective : The main goal of the course is to show that one can do statistics in a different than classical way.
Prerequisites : MATH0213
Workshops : Practicals will be organised in the computer room of the Mathematical Institute. The statistical package R will be used.
Organization : The course is given only once over two years. It will not be organised during the academic year 2005-2006.
Written notes : There is no script for this course. References will be given.
Assessment : The final result is a weighted mean obtained with the two following results:

- oral exam on theory and exercises

- personnal project.
