| Assessment :
| The acquisitions of the course of Sociology of the education will be examined on the basis of a global note on 20 points:
1. On 15 points: the writing of a summary concerning the critical analysis of a documentary support viewed during the penultimate session of the course. This report will be individually drafted. He must be handed within the prescribed time. This work will be of 10 pages maximum (character 11, space 1.5) and will rest on the notes and the reading file handed during the course of Sociology of education.
The writing of this report supposes that everyone has beforehand: - taken part in the working sessions and in the group works; - exploited some articles or works composing the wallet of reference readings; - consulted notes, and appropriated them (you shall be asked during the evaluation not to restitute the content of the course, but to apply it to a concrete problem); - made an interview with a professional of the school world.
In this personal work, the student will have to prove a double capacity in formulating a problem, that is to articulate in a correct and relevant way questions connected to certain aspects of the conjugal and domestic functioning, and to deliver a diagnosis on the sources of the difficulties met by the observed actors.
The quality of the work (satisfying; good; very good; excellent) will be appreciated considering: - the exactness and the precision of the sociological contents (the used notions will be correctly defined); - the integration of the various notions used in a global analysis (the evaluation will be more favorable if the student proceeded to an articulation of the various notions, rather than to a succession of reports without visible link); - the aptness of the global analysis and the diagnosis presented (with, in an important order, its coherence interns, its explanatory value, its originality).
Three criteria of evaluation are presented in order of growing importance: it is thus above all a question of giving evidence of exactness and precision, a capacity of integration or of articulation of the various notions, then a "sharpness" in the analysis.
2. On 5 points: an individual feedback-interview concerning the summary. During this interview, every student will receive a feedback on the quality of the presented work. He will have the occasion to justify or to argue the theoretical and\or methodological orientations.
The justifications and the argumentations will be appreciated on the basis of the previously presented criteria: - exactness and precision in the mastery of the sociological content; - capacity of integration and articulation of the various notions; - sharpness in the analysis. | |
