Methododology of Cognitive and Behavioural Activity

Course contents : Learning the various methods of analysis and therapy of the behavioral and cognitive approach. Some of them are presented in cooperation with clinicians, power users. Follow-up of symptomatology and epidemiology. Detailed presentation of the different notional models.



Main topics :

- Therapeuthic process (holistic theory, functional analysis)
- Some techniques : exposure, cognitive restructuring, problems solving

The following topics vary from year to year depending on availability of the intervenors :
- Single phobia,
- Social phobia,
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder,
- Mood disorders,
- Nutritional disturbances,
- Post-traumatic stress disease
- Schizophrenia and psychotic disorders
- Dependencies
Course objective : To get knowledge of different methods developed in behavioural and cognitive clinic whose effectiveness has been investigated. Awareness to their indications, gains and limitations.
Prerequisites : PSY00030-1. Psychology of Emotion

PSYC1012-1. Cognitive and behavioural clinical psychology
Written notes : PowerPoint presentations on line and to be printed, and a detailed textbook.
Assessment : Written examination (open-ended questions)
