Course contents : 1. Concepts of "group" and "group dynamics"

4. Groupal bind and group cohesion
5. Communication within groups
6. Roles within groups
7. Influence and leadership within groups
8. Emotional and imaginary phenomena within groups
9. Groups at work
10. Groupal practices and requirements of professionalism
Course objective : 1. To understand the fundamentals conceptual and epistemologic frameworks of group dynamics
2. To acquire the theoretical basics needed to decode the main group phenomena
3. To become aware of the main methodological aspect of animation of a group at work
4. To personally experience the insertion in a small group in situation of a "training laboratory"
5. To put in prospect the professional opportunities offered by group dynamics
6. To develop a critical look towards group dynamics, its theories and its practice
Workshops : This practical work (optional or mandatory courses depending on the students' curriculum) takes the form of participating in a weekend of "Increasing awerness of group phenomena" during which the studends divided into small groups realize, under the conduction of a "group dynamician", some structured experiences giving them the opportunity to personnaly experience the main group phenomena and to analyse the impact of their own behaviour on the group functionning. The practical work will be subject to a written report which will serve as the basis for the awarding of grades.
Written notes : A dossier containing relevant reading
Assessment : Written exam consisting of one or two open questions on theory as well as a case study (students can use course material).
