Course objective : 1. To understand the fundamental conceptual, epistemological and metaphorical frameworks of organisational psychology
2. To acquire the theoretical basics needed to decode the main psychological phenomena, individual and collective, at work within organisational contexts
3. To personally experience, through simulating a company at work, the process of management, teamwork and the behaviour associated with change in organisational structures
4. To become aware of the present day problematics organisations have to face up to and the role played by organisational psychology
5. To put in prospect the professional opportunities offered by group dynamics
6. To develop a critical look towards group dynamics, its theories and its practice
Workshops : This practical work (optional or mandatory courses depending on the students' curriculum) takes the form of participating in a weekend experience entitled «Team, organisation and change» during which students, divided into teams, simulate the behaviour of a business under the guidance of a professional manager. This simulation allows the student to experience personally the teamwork, the management of a team, the organisation of the fundamental processes involved in business and the behaviour associated with changes at work. Each simulation is used as support for debriefing sessions led by a professional consultant in the field of human resources management. The practical work will be subject to a written report which will serve as the basis for the awarding of grades.
Assessment : Written exam consisting of one or two open questions on theory as well as a case study (students can use course material).
