PHYS0927-1

Introduction to electronic and electrotechnic

Duration :60h Th
Credits/ECTS :
3e ingénieur commercial5
Holder(s) :Pierre Deneye
Course contents : After introducing the basis of general electronics, a large part of the course will be devoted to digital electronics. Many essential elementary circuits as well as any modern electronic device will be analysed in detail (..., meters, dereoder, multiplexer, ...). The part devoted to electrotechnics will mainly focus on understanding electrical machines (engines genrators) with a particular emphasis on moderndevices (step by step engine as well as their command. Finally another important part deals with practical work : on the one hand students will simulate the circuits analysed in class with a specialized software, they will also have to study and conceive a printed circuit.
Course objective : This course aims to present the main principles of electronics and electrotechnic's
Prerequisites : Fundamentals of electricity : power, voltage, resistance, Ohm's laws
Organization : Wide use of multimedia support with animated illustrations reflecting real-life situations. Also, students will be rquired to individually simulate the concepts studied in class with the help of simulation software. They will also conceive a printed circuit in lab classes.
