Course contents : Translation of informal language and translation of articles in newspapers and magazines.
Course objective : A fair command of the language.
Prerequisites : You must have obtained your candidature degree. No systematic mistakes in grammar and pronunciation are tolerated any longer.
Organization : Duration and term: 30 hours - 1st semester.

Place and time: central building - Monday 9-11.

Teaching method:
Translation French-Dutch, Dutch-French.
Compulsory Reading: 20 p. in the Dutch magazine Elsevier.
Advised Reading: Dutch and Flemish newspapers.
Written notes : Reference books:
Uitdrukkingen en Spreekwoorden van A tot Z (S. Theissen & Ph. Hiligsmann, De Boeck Université, 1999).
Onze wereld in 30 teksten (Hiligsmann/Theissen).
Syllabus with informal vocabulary.
Assessment : Examination: January.
Written examination (translation French-Dutch, Dutch-French) and oral examination (feedback on the written examination, analysis of one of the articles in Elsevier).
Test on Dutch phrases.
