Course contents : To trace and analyze the trope of drug taking and drug-induced experiences in Dutch literary texts as a paradigm of the creative process
Course objective : To enhance the students' analytical skills by close reading a number of Dutch and Flemish novels and poems from the seventeenth century to the present day. To expose the ideological function of literary texts within a specific cultural debate.
Prerequisites : Language level required (Dutch): Advanced
