| Course contents : | This course is a description, analyse and practictal commentaries of the "Loi sur les Hôpitaux" (belgian law relative to hospitals).It describes and comments the specific aspects of belgian legislation relative to the structures and organs responsible for decisions in the fields of hospital organization, financing and regulation. An important part is devoted to the financial and budgetary aspects of hospitals, with particular attention to the financing of hospital stay | ||||||||

| Course objective : | To provide the future hospital manager (in a wide meaning) the basic knowledge for the understanding of the complexity of hospital organization and financing; to give him/her a general vision of financial ressources of an hospital in such a way that he/she will understand the official information reaching him and that he/she will be able to adapt the management of his/her sector to the frequent changes which occur | ||||||||

| Organization : | Oral lessons given at 6 p.m. The subject matter is divided in 12 chapters: 1. Historical review, definitions and complexity of the political belgian situation as a consequence of the regionalization. 2. Official organs of advice (CNEH, CCES...) 3. National Hospital programmation 4. Financing of hospital investments 5. Official approval of hospitals and services 6. Accounting; official revision 7. Financing of hospital stay; "day-price" 8. Financing of medical activity; the hospital and the belgian national health insurance system 9. The hospital pharmacy 10.The social status of hospital doctors 11. The social status of the auxillary staff depending upon the "day-price" 12. Specific problems of some kinds of hospitals | ||||||||
