| Course contents :
| Self-learning course. Students work with a syllabus allowing them to become acquainted with the English language as used for scientific purposes in the field of psychology. They also have an audio tape with recordings of the various texts from the syllabus, which should help them improve their oral understanding skills as well as their pronunciation.
Weekly tutoring sessions will enable students to ask questions about the various parts of the syllabus and to receive additional explanations about the language. | |

| Course objective :
| The purpose of this course is to provide students with the necessary linguistic tools enabling them to face the English scientific literature they are likely to encounter in the course of their studies and beyond.
Consolidation of essential grammatical rules.
Introduction to the vocabulary of psychology.
Reading comprehension based on short texts followed by questions on the content as well as vocabulary and grammar exercises | |

| Prerequisites :
| As this is no course for total beginners, students are expected to have at least a basic knowledge of English. | |

| Organization :
| Weekly tutoring sessions based on a precise schedule that will be displayed on the notice board in psychology.
Students are welcome to attend these sessions provided they have read and prepared the lessons beforehand. | |

| Assessment :
| Non compulsory written examination during the May-June exam session.
The exam consists of multiple choice questions based on the whole coursebook. | |
