| Course contents : | The course starts with a quick refresher on the balance of payment. In a second step the link between money, the interest rate and exchange rates is explored. Our analysis will tackle issues both in the short and the long run, respectively analyzing the interactions between output and exchange rates, and between prices and the exchange rates. Other topics studied are fixed and floating exchange rate systems and their implications for macroeconomic policy. Real-world applications are illustrated, with a particular emphasis on Europe and developing countries. | ||||||||

| Course objective : | The course examines the importance of macroeconomic analysis for understanding international economic relations.
