| Course contents : | The course aims to present the student with fundamental knowledge of the basic principles of the State Law (Law itself, separation of powers, rule of law, parliamentary representative democracy, ), essential features of the Belgian State structure and the Belgian federalism, Hierarchy of norms, the Belgian constitutional court, International and European Law, Rights and freedoms, principle of non-discrimination. | ||||||||

| Course objective : | Initiate the students to the bases public law and prepare them to further, more specific, courses they will have later. | ||||||||

| Prerequisites : | A good knowledge of French. Good reading aptitudes and good deductive and inductive reasoning. | ||||||||

| Organization : | The lectures will be given on Thursday mornings during the first semester and will last for 2 hours. It founds on the handbooks, the Belgian Constitution and some legal sources. The attendance at the lectures is recommended. It is useful the read the handbook before attending the lectures to be able to follow easily the developments and the examples explained in this occasion. | ||||||||
