Course contents : The course presents a short history of the discovery of the DNA and the stages of the methodological revolution that followed.
It describes the molecular mechanisms of the replication, transcription and translation processes.
Course objective : Presentation of the essential molecular biology concepts with a focus on elements which allow an understanding of the functioning of the "tools" used by molecular biologists.
Prerequisites : General biochemistry (upstream)
Workshops : 10 hours: learning how to manipulate DNA
Organization : 4 hours per week during the 2nd semester
Written notes : Course notes with all the illustrations are available
Assessment : Written exam
