Learning unit contents
A detailed and intergated knowledge of anatomy is essential for the veterinary pratictionner. This course aim to explain elements of clinical, surgical and imaging anatomy and to replace this anatomical knwoledge in a clinical contexte.
The content will cover elements of anatomy of thorax, abdomen and locomotor system in companion animal, horse and bovine.
The lessons of radio-anatomy will alse explain the basic principles of the formation of the image in radiology and ultrasound. Ultrasound and radiographic elements of semiology will be introduced.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
A the end of the course, students will be able to describe and draw the anatomical regions and structures of the region treated during the lectures. They will be able to label anatomical structures on anatomical images, drawings, medical images (radiographs, ultrasound images, CT, MRI, anatomical chart, photos of surgery). The students will also be able to explain the formation of a radiographic and of an ultrasound image and will be able to recognize the radiographic projection.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
The knowledge of descriptive and comparative anatomy of domestic animals is necessary. The students must have made a success of the examinations for anatomy of domestic animals I, II and III.
