Learning unit contents
The course is a general introduction to the explicative methods used in multivariate analysis, i.e. the study of several variables simultaneously. The course will cover the following chapters:
- R/Rcmdr introduction
- Multiple regression
- Binary and ordinal logistic regression
- Survival curves and Cox regression
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The course is an introduction to the methods of multivariate data analysis. At the end of the course, the student should have the ability of defining a multivariate problem, analysing the data and interpreting the results. He/she should also be able to understand the use of multivariate methods in the scientific literature.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Prerequisite: STAT1001-1 et STAT0420-1 ou STAT730-2
A good knowledge of univariate statistical methods.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The practical sessions consist in analysing mulltivariate datasets by means of the statistical package R.
Please take with you your lecture notes and a PC with R/Rcmdr installed

Each course consists of theory and exercises with R.The homeworks can be completed at home by the student with eCampus. Tutorials are available.
