Schedule
Units courses prerequisite and corequisite
Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program
Learning unit contents
This teaching unit consists of assistance provided to students with the aim of helping them pass the evaluations of the PHYS1986-2 course. These are sessions devoted to reviewing basic concepts in electricity and magnetism, through carrying out exercises and solving problems.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit
The learning outcomes are identical to those of course PHYS1986-2.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills
Secondary school mathematics. Knowledge and know-how from semester 1 physics course.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods
This teaching is organized via remedial sessions led by a teacher attached to the Physics Department. Each session, lasting 1 hour to 2 hours, begins with a reminder, by the teacher, of the basic concepts associated with the subject of the session, as well as the mathematical formalism necessary for solving the exercises and problems. Then, typical resolutions are provided for a number of exercises and problems, in an environment that encourages interactivity. Finally, a time slot is devoted to personal work, during which the teacher can be asked to provide more specific help focused on the needs of the requesting students.
