Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

The course consists in the participation to the Startech contest.

The contest operates in groups of students. Each group must propose a startup idea and make it evolve over the course of the year. In order to make the idea progress, the students must show their ability to meet the right people: potential customers, potential competitors, potential investors. An important part of the project therefore consists in the development of didactic presentations of the idea as well as the development of a serious business plan. The teams of students are helped and supervised by coaches, specialized in the creation of startups.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The student will have developed essential soft skills needed for the creation of a startup.

  • presentation skills
  • being able to present an idea to potential customers or investors
  • being able to write a business plan

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

In addition, they are asked to develop their startup idea by meeting the right people between sessions. The jury chooses a winning team that represents the University of Liège at the national final of the competition in the fall.
