Learning unit contents

Health simulation, through the use of different tools to reproduce in a more or less realistic way clinical situations, would bring significant added value to the training of health professionals.
In this context, this course includes:
- a practical training course at the Center for Interdisciplinary Simulation in Liège (at CHU) to give students an introduction to various activities encountered in a simulation center (e.g. pediatric high fidelity simulation and adult). - realization of a portfolio allowing to take stock of its own training course (through the various courses on health simulation), its effects on its professional development and its own perspectives. This portfolio aims to foster the articulation between the theory seen at the course and the practice at the simulation center, to accompany in a self-evaluation, analysis and regulation, with a formative aim.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
* Identify educational objectives * Write a scenario for these objectives * Define a realistic environment to achieve these educational objectives and prepare equipment, equipment, mannequin etc. * Structuring and conducting a simulation session: briefing, scenario, debriefing * Evaluate simulation practices and engage in ethical reflection in this area.
