The course is focused on teaching the specific pitfalls that academic English presents to foreign learners. This includes grammar, linking words and vocabulary.

Students will be able to read, understand and write academic English, as well as presenting data found in such texts.

A high mastery of the English language is required.

Students will receive half their marks for class work. This includes:

25% Presenting the content of an academic text

25% Writing a critical review of an academic text

The exams will provide the other half of the marks

25% for a written exam. Students will be asked to write an abstract for an academic text

25% for an oral exam. Students will be asked to present the pertinent data located within an academic text

Weekly sessions of 2hrs each.

As this is a language course a seventy percent attendence rate is required to be able to take the exams. Your attendence will be marked at the beginning of each class. Any justified absences must be submitted within the shortest delay possible.
