Learning unit contents

A good knowledge and understanding of the mechanisms of pain, the factors that can influence pain and how to adapt the management according to the patient's experience of pain are essential for all physiotherapists taking care of a person suffering from pain.

 

The course will cover:

 

- Introduction, reminders, discussions, pain vs nociception

- Peripheral/central sensitization, mechanisms and evaluation of pain

- Modulating factors of pain, IMD/IMD, physical activities and pain

- Education in the neurophysiology of pain (examples, tools, exercises)

- Placebo effect, vignettes, debriefing
