Learning unit contents

Students must find an internship related to a theme chosen in agreement with their tutor. They must produce the necessary documents to be able to begin their internship (internship agreement, task/activity roster), regularly inform the professor of the progress and status of their internship research, complete the internship and draft an internship report.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

At the end of the internship, students will be able to:
- understand a professional field and how to make contacts in that specific area; - adapt to and integrate in a professional environment while developing one or more skills; - perform specific and predefined tasks/activities and make proposals; - collect various kinds of information at the internship location; - write draft a summary report and submit the content to the host organisation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

All the activities fall within the following broad lines:
- Research and completion of an internship;
- Application of skills and knowledge in anthropology in tasks/activities to be completed and proposals;
- Collection of material during internship (grey literature regarding the institution, regulations, training materials, organisational charts, legislation, instructions, plans, etc.).

Additional information:

The final grade will be established based on the professor's continuous assessment, the internship report and the supervisor's evaluation (see the assessment grid). This summary report should be no longer than 10 pages (not including annexes; font size 11; spacing 1.5) and will include, in addition to the description and an analysis of the content of the internship, a reflective section devoted to an evaluation of the personal experiences, the student's contributions to the host organisation and the final presentation given by the student to the host organisation. An appendix should be attached that provides the materials collected during the internship (grey literature regarding the institution, regulations, training materials, legislation, instructions, plans, etc.).

Organisational remarks and main changes to the course

The internship will be carried out during the academic year, with the exception of the periods reserved for examinations. It is preferable for it to be carried out during the second term.
Duration: 270 hours (of which 180 hours are for the internship, that is, 22 days of internship)
