Units courses prerequisite and corequisite

Prerequisite or corequisite units are presented within each program

Learning unit contents

The course aims to provide the students with specific analysis tools in core management areas covered in their innovation projects (finance, marketing, HR, logistics, etc.). In this regard, the course helps students to establish a diagnosis of this function in the company and to refine the management problem to solve (development of the "content" of their project) inviting them to take a critical look at the issue and at its potential consequences. Initiated during the first year of the program (part I), this course continues in the second year of the master (part II) during which students are not only encouraged to refine their thinking and to detect transverse issues of their project but also to think about real solutions to problems encountered and to propose relevant and reasoned recommendations to guide the company in strategic and operational decision making.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

The course encourages students to consider the various aspects of management that can be mobilized in the conduct of their specific project, through a theoretical point of view (part I, preparatory phase) and a practical perspective (part II, managerial approach developed in connection with the other courses of the "Intrapreneurship and Management of Innovation Projects" program). Students willl have to demonstrate their ability to link and translate the theoretical foundations to corporate reality and that, in a cross and transdisciplinary logic from a diagnostic approach to effective management stage and managerial recommendations.

In line with the key learning outcomes of the Masters in Business Engineering and in Management Sciences, the main objectives of the course canbe summarized as such:
- To invite students to adopt the position of a specialist in the field of intrapreneurship and innovation management
- To develop students' skills regarding the establishment of a strategy to optimize an organization and/or a project
- To invite students to take into account the legal, social, societal, and technological context of private companies and public institutions in the establishment of a strategy aiming at optimizing an organization and/or a project
- To work on students' capacity to research autonomously and methodically the information needed to solve a complex, transversal management problem
- To boost students' capacity to integrate researched information, analytical tools and existing knowledge to understand concrete management problems and to propose original, creative and viable solutions
- To develop students' critical sense (arguing) in the interpretation of concrete and complex management problems
- To enhance students' capacity to communicate efficiently about a company and a project through a professional perspective
