Legal German
One aim of this course is to improve oral interaction. It will focus on various oral activities such as giving a structured presentation, expressing one's opinion and taking part in a discussion.
It will also cover law-related topics and vocabulary in order to enhance students' command of legal English (vocabulary as well as grammar).

will have improved their oral skills and fluency in different fields of law.
will be better prepared to give efficient oral presentations.
will have a better command of legal German.
will also have improved their listening comprehension skills.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Students should have a good command of German corresponding to CEFR-level B2.

  • Oral expression:
Conversation exercises/discussions based on legal texts or legally oriented texts + each student will give an oral presentation in class.
  • Improving students command of legal German through various exercises
  • Listening comprehension exercises

Course attendance is compulsory.
Note:
The continuous assessment mark will be taken into account for both exam sessions.
Mere exam attendance (without actually taking part in the exam) will lead to a global mark of 0.
Assessment methods may be adapted according to the current health context.

Practice

This course is taught 2 hours a week during 10 weeks.

Students are expected to prepare their lessons and to participate actively during lessons.
