Learning unit contents

The "special didactic" section by itself represents half of the AESS program in Psychology of Education Sciences (15 ECTS out of 30), and it is made up of two parts:

1. The special didactics course: 2 modules, each module prepares to a teaching practise. The first teaching practise course proceeds in main education (in social sciences); training courses 2 and 2bis proceed in qualifying teaching (jobs linked to human interaction such as nursery nurse, education agent and organizor...).

2. Training courses of observation and responsibility are associated to reflexive practise seminars. Those allow to reflect on training course situations and how the student-teachers react in those situations. The course module preceding training course 1 provides the foundations of the teacher job (to prepare a sequence, to manage it), introduces the legal reference, as well as the development of competences in order to master the human social stuff.

The course modules preceding the training courses 2 and 2bis introduce and develop specificities of the competences, their evaluation and the starter of the construction of a professional identity. They work on the legal prescribe (the legal references) linked to this kind of teaching.

Learning outcomes of the learning unit

Overall, this course is intended to develop professional abilities of future teachers in secondary education in Psychology and Education Sciences.

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

The co-requisite is: Each module includes theoretical courses and training practices. The validation of the module is conditioned by the attendance in class and the success in the associated training practices.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods

The course alternates resource contribution, settings in situation (micro-teaching) and analyses.
The training courses proceed under the supervision of the holder of the class. They are the object of an evaluative visit of a member of the building team. They give also the possibility to formative discussions.

In Part I, the teaching practice 1 has to be done at the same time as the courses and the reflexive practise seminar that corresponds to it.

- Part II includes the Teaching Practises 2 and 2bis.

Mode of delivery (face to face, distance learning, hybrid learning)

Blended learning

Additional information:

Face to face: - Modelling and theorization - Application exercises - Reflexive practices after training practices
Some of the courses will be carried out remotely to prepare the session or to do some integration exercises from theoretical resources. Face-to-face schedules will be adapted accordingly. If the health situation required it, distance courses in synchronous version would be considered.

Recommended or required readings

Working documentation and theoretical support material will be handed out. A detailed teaching engagement is given to the students at the first lesson (avalaible on line, e-Campus). This document is also commented.
