Contenus de l'unité d'enseignement
The content of this course starts with the basic principles of a manufacturing sequence. The first chapters are dedicated to a general review of engineering materials used in manufacturing, to an introduction to the choice of manufacturing processes and to the presentation of the theoretical elements useful to the understanding of the physics of manufacturing processes. The next part of the course covers the elaboration of semi-finished products. The main chapter is dedicated to the review and comparison of the main manufacturing processes, including subtractive processes, additive processes, forming processes and assembly processes. The final chapter of the course presents the future trends in mechanical manufacturing, including amongst others "industry 4.0" concept.
Acquis d'apprentissage (objectifs d'apprentissage) de l'unité d'enseignement
The aim of this course is to provide the student with a toolbox including various manufacturing processes that he will be able to use for a wide range of mechanical applications. He should be able to understand and compare the processes considering their technological aspects, their industrialization, their effect on parts properties, the quality aspects and the economics
Savoirs et compétences prérequis
Basic knowledge of Physics, Mechanics, Engineering Materials
Activités d'apprentissage prévues et méthodes d'enseignement
- Theoretical course
- Visits of factories illustrating the theoretical courses
- Personal work by groups of two students on an advanced process and its application to engineering products
Mode d'enseignement (présentiel ; enseignement à distance)
This course is given during the second quadrimester on Monday afternoon (14.00 to 18.00), some visits of factories are replacing the course on a few dates in the same timeframe.
A personal reflexion shall be conducted by the students on some topics related to advanced manufacturing processes. This work shall be carried on during the quadrimester and orally presented at the end of the course.
Lectures recommandées ou obligatoires et notes de cours
