Each session will provide both a theoretical and practical approach.
At the theoretical level, the course will examine the international context of forced migration, the Geneva Convention and the mechanismes of refugee status determination, subsidiary protection as well as the links between forced and voluntary migration. On a practical level, the course will offer an opportunity for analysing recent asylum crises. Course Programme:

Learning outcomes of the learning unit :
| The class seeks to provide students with an overview of the realities of contemporary forced migration as well the situation of refugees worldwide. In 2016, more than 60 million people were displaced as a result of wars, violence and persecutions. The class assesses the specificities of these migrations and the policy responses that are deployed. The course should allow students to reach a good intellectual and practical understanding of issues linked to asylum and forced migration | |||||
