Learning unit contents :
This course is an introduction to human radiopathology. It considers teh various pathological effects that results from exposure to ionizing ardiations in man.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit :
To understand and describe the risks associated with the exposure to ionizing radiations:
Determinist effects
partial irradiation
whole body irradiation
Stochastic effects
genetic effects
radiation-induced cancers
Intra-uterine exposure
Risks associated with low-dose exposure
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
None. The first session is dedicated to a refresher course summarizing the elements of nuclear physics and radiation biology that are necessary to understand this course.
