| Critique analysis of: Emmanuel Kant, Kritik der Urteilskraft (Critique of Judgment).
The course will give a study of the first part of the Critique of Judgment, namely the "Critique of the Judgment of taste". We will analyze the Kantian text in order to understand how the concept of finality is used in the context of aesthetics (with a particular emphasis on the sublime), putting it into a double perspective: how it relates to Kant's precritic Observations on the Feeling of the beautiful and the Sublime (1764) and how contemporary philosophers deal with Kant's doctrine (especially J.-F. Lyotard, Lessons on the Analytic of the Sublime, 1991) |

| The course will start and introduction by the teache on the introduction of the Critique of Judgment and on the texte of 1764.
Then every session will be organized around a commentary of a particular passage of the Critique of Judgment led by a student, with a complementary lesson by the teacher. |
