| A series of presentations by oceanographers working at the University of Liege will be attended by the students. These presentations will describe a recent research project, addressing both their scientific relevance and the practical aspects of searching and applying for funding. Theoretical introductions on how to write a scientific paper and a scientific proposal will be also covered in this course. | |||||

| The lessons will consist of a series of theoretical units about the structure of a scientific paper and proposal, and a series of presentations made by oceanographers working at the University of Liege. | |||||

| The most relevant scientific papers will be identified during the preparatory sessions and they must be read and analysed by the students.

Assessment methods and criteria :

| The students will prepare a scientific proposal of a given topic, and defend it orally in front of the class. Critical assessment of each proposal by the students will be also judged. | |||||
