Learning outcomes of the learning unit :
After completing the course the student is expected to
  • Represent a body or system by a mechanical model, i.e. construct a free-body diagram
  • Establish and solve the equilibrium equations to find reactions
  • Compute mass centres and moments of inertia
  • Describe the movement trajectory of a rigid body
  • Establish and solve the movement equations of a rigid body
