Learning unit contents :
The course will be devoted to the discussion of selected texts and films dealing with 'black Britishness', then and now.
Learning outcomes of the learning unit :
Introduction to "Black British" literature with a discussion of representative literary works.
Prerequisite knowledge and skills :
Very good knowledge of English.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
The course will be taught in seminar format. Students will be expected to participate actively.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
Second term, 2 hours a week.
Recommended or required readings :
Selected reading material will be available at the beginning of the course. The following plays and novels will be analysed in class:
