| General introduction to literary theory. Origin and history of the discipline. Survey of the major tendencies and recent developments. | ||

| Providing the students with a basic knowledge of the various tendencies and methodologies in literary studies. Developing the students' reflective capacities. Preparing the students to read theoretical students autonomously. | ||
